DTS - HD Radio
One of my clients was DTS, a company that makes multichannel audio technologies for film and video. At some point, they bought a company called HD Radio (which isn’t even Hi Definition radio, “HD” is just the name). It’s basically just the radio that comes standard in most new cars. Anyway, they wanted us to make some Twitter and Facebook content to help explore their social identity.
We had a miniscule budget to hire a few actors to come and shoot a few things one day and they were all terrible. Everyone thought the footage was going to be unusable.
I took the footage and sat down with our editor and we were able to Frankenstein together these awesomely weird posts. It ended up being super fun and one of my favorite experiences. I took something that seemed like it was going to be a disaster and turned it into something everyone really loved.
TFW Your Jam Comes On
In this campaign, we use the “That Feeling When” meme to capture the high quality experience of listening to HD Radio.
You know that feeling you get when out of nowhere, your favorite song plays on the radio and it causes you to feel a sweet, sweet joy. We all know that feeling. And in a world of algorithms and playlists, that feeling of pleasant surprise is one HD Radio uniquely provides.
Never Stop Listening
Quality-sounding radio so good, you’ll want it with you everywhere
You’ll never want to stop listening to the premium quality of HD Radio. In fact, you’ll want to take it with you wherever you go. In this fanciful series, we show people using their HD Radio as a replacement for the portable devices we normally use when listening to music in our day to day lives.
Using collage-style photo and paper cutouts, we’ll create scenes where people have chosen to take their HD Radio (and thus, the whole car) with them rather than stop listening.
